River rescue at 15th St bridge in Great Falls

UPDATE 4/23/26 10:04 a.m. – Emergency crews have cleared the bridge after a water rescue that ended with a person being safely taken to shore at Broadwater Bay and then transported by ambulance to Benefis Health System’s emergency department.

Officials say the rescue moved quickly once boats were launched, with the person brought out of the water about 10 minutes later.

Great Falls, Mont. — Great Falls Police Department say crews are at the 15th St bridge for a river rescue and drivers could see delays if they try to cross there.

According to the department’s Facebook post, Great Falls Fire Rescue, Black Eagle Volunteer Fire Department, the Cascade County Sheriff, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Region 4 and Great Falls Emergency Services are there helping.

Police are telling drivers to use the 9th St bridge instead while crews remain in the area. 

The department will give an update on when the response is over.
