Snowmobile avalanche fatality near Island Park

ISLAND PARK, Idaho – A snowmobile avalanche fatality was reported near Island Park, according to a Facebook post by the Friends of the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center (GNFAC).

The accident occurred north of the Keg Springs trailhead in the Centennial Mountains.

The GNFAC announced they would visit the site tomorrow to gather more information.

"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim during this tragic time," the post said.
