POPLAR, Mont. - An 18-year-old was killed in a crash on U-S 2 near Poplar in Roosevelt County, according to a release by Montana Highway Patrol (MHP).

On April 26, MHP said the driver tried to elude a Fort Peck tribal officer after the officer attempted to make a traffic stop for failing to keep the vehicle inside the lane.

The vehicle travelled at a high rate of speed before veering off the roadway and rolling multiple times, MHP said.

The unidentified driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
