Toy gun mistaken for real firearm at Browning High School prompts police response

BROWNING, Mont.— Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services (BLES) reported that officers received a call at about 3:50 p.m. about a student who may have had a firearm inside Browning High School.

The agency said officers found the student and determined the reported firearm was a toy gun.

BLES reported that the Glacier County Sheriff’s Office, the Blackfeet Land Enforcement Officer, Blackfeet Fish and Wildlife game wardens and the U.S. Border Patrol responded.

"Parents- please have a conversation with your children about the dangers of bringing items to school that can be considered a firearm/weapon, or resemble a firearm/weapon. Thank you!" Chief Keller from BLES said.
