Wildfire prompts response north of Boulder in Jefferson County

The fire has been mapped at 27 acres in size.

Forward progress of the fire has been stopped. Crews will remain on scene through the afternoon to continue mop-up operations around the burn area.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Montana — Emergency crews responded to a wildfire off Upper Valley Road north of Boulder on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 11:15 a.m.

The Jefferson County Montana Sheriff's Office advised the public to avoid the area.

"No structures are threatened at this time," said the Sheriff's Office in a Facebook post.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed through official channels for updates.
