15 acres burned in wildland fire near North Meadow Creek in McAllister
MADISON COUNTY, Mont. - Around 15 total acres burned in a wildland fire in the area of North Meadow Creek in McCallister on Sunday, according to the Madison Valley Rural Fire Department.
The department said crews were dispatched to the fire at around 4:30 p.m.
Eight apparatus and 20 firefighters were able to contain the blaze, and no nearby homes were affected.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but the Madison Valley Rural Fire Department said a burn pile from earlier in the week that may have reignited is suspected.
