2 men arrested after fatal shooting on North Reserve Street in Missoula

The Missoula Police Department shared an update to Wednesday's fatal shooting in a press release.

"The Missoula Police Department would like to acknowledge the loss of life resulting from yesterday's incident and extend our condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased," the department said.

Police said two men were remanded to the Missoula County Detention Facility. An assault with a weapon charge was referred for one and attempted assault with a weapon for the other.

MPD emphasized the investigation remains active, but no further information would be released at this time.

UPDATE: March 4 at 5:45 p.m.

Missoula Police said a shooting occurred in the 2200 block of North Reserve Street, resulting in the death of an adult male.

Officers responded shortly after 3:30 p.m. and continued CPR efforts upon arrival. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.

Preliminary findings suggest the incident involved fugitive recovery agents, also known as bail bondsmen, attempting to conduct a bond revocation. Police said they were reportedly wearing clothing identifying their roles.

The investigation is ongoing, with Missoula Police Department Detectives interviewing all involved parties. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
