‘Ancestral Memory’ art works on display at Main Stope in Butte
The work of artist, painter and illustrator Rachel Driscoll will be on display throughout March at the Main Stope Gallery, 14 S. Dakota St.
An opening of her work, titled “Ancestral Memory,” will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 6, at the gallery.
Driscoll is a fifth-generation Montanan who graduated from Montana State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
According to a news release, Driscoll’s love of history and ancestry stimulated her interest in creating works of portraiture and other figures of the American West. Her work attempts to show the relational dynamics of the people depicted in her paintings.
