Belgrade School District welcomes new principals for middle and high schools

BELGRADE, Mont. – The Belgrade School District announced the appointment of new principals for its middle and high schools on Friday. Jessica Christensen will lead Belgrade Middle School, while Bertrand Horsley will take charge of Belgrade High School. Both will start their roles on July 1.

Christensen brings 18 years of educational experience, with 13 years at Belgrade Middle School. She has served as a teacher, coach, athletic director and assistant principal. Christensen holds degrees from the University of Wyoming, Grand Canyon University and Capella University. Additionally, she is actively involved in local youth development.

Horsley has over 20 years of experience in public education, with more than ten years as the high school’s assistant principal. He has a background in special education and has coached wrestling and football. Horsley earned his degrees from the University of Richmond and Lynchburg College.

The district expressed confidence in Christensen and Horsley, stating their familiarity with the community will ensure a smooth transition for the upcoming school year.
