Owner of Corvallis assisted living facility accused of taking $25K from memory-care resident
The owner of a Corvallis assisted living facility is facing accusations of exploitation after allegedly taking $25,000 from a resident in her care with memory problems.
Rebecca Wolsky Campbell, 67, of Corvallis was charged with felony exploitation of an incapacitated or vulnerable adult and tampering with or fabrication evidence, also a felony, in Ravalli County Justice Court on Feb. 3, according to court documents.
Campbell is the owner is Arron Home Care in Corvallis. The charges come after a staffer at the facility, 23-year-old Trevor Anthony Robert Hudson of Darby, was charged with taking around $16,000 from the same memory-care resident.

A Darby man is accused of taking $16,000 from a nursing home resident while he was employed at a Bitterroot assisted living facility.
23-year-old Trevor Anthony Robert Hudson was charged with two felony counts of exploitation of an older or incapacitated person in Ravalli County Justice Court on Wednesday, Feb. 2.
The Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office received a referral from the Montana Department of Justice in October of 2023 to investigate the possibility of elder exploitation and theft at Arron Home Care in Corvallis, according to charging documents.

About two dozen Corvallis middle-schoolers stood in a circle to form a “cell” on Thursday afternoon, with different students taking on roles like “Lieutenant Lysosome” and “Captain Membrane” in a play about a city called “Organellia” — meant to represent the different roles of different parts of an animal cell.
Students volunteered themselves for different roles and sported costumes befitting their character. Lieutenant Lysosome, seventh-grader Ella Ostby, wore a camo jacket and Captain Membrane, seventh-grader Tim Zhang, a purple cape and sunglasses.
The play was put together by the Biomedical Research After-School Scholars (BRASS) program developed by National Institutes of Health researchers at Rocky Mountain Labs in Hamilton.

Hamilton community ice rink at Big Corral Park gets tentative approval
Ravalli County Commissioners gave tentative approval for a one-year contract with the Hamilton Downtown Foundation (HDF) to have a community ice rink installed for the 2026-2027 winter season at the Big Corral Park on Kurtz Lane in Hamilton during a meeting on Monday, Feb. 23.
Ravalli County Park Board President Gary Leese sat alongside HDF Director Matthew Zwicker and HDF Board President Mary Casper, as they presented plans for how the ice rink will be run and operated.
The rink will be 44x80 feet and use chiller units to keep it refrigerated so it can be utilized during warmer winter months. The chiller units would make it usable with outside temperatures getting up to 55 degrees, according to Zwicker.

Two sandhill cranes warble while passing over over Teller Wildlife Refuge in Corvallis on Tuesday morning as the new education program manager for the refuge, Sarah Daman, is starting her day.
Daman was hired a month ago to help bridge a gap between Teller Wildlife Refuge and the school systems throughout the valley, and to help manage and run multiple programs for youth and adults throughout the year including summer camps.
Originally Daman is from Maryland, but she came out West in 2010 to get her master’s degree and spent part of her time in her program at the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, where she led middle school science classes through the park teaching them about the area and camping with them. The experience helped her realize she wanted to be a science teacher.

Missoula man accused of drug distribution in Ravalli County
A Missoula man is facing a felony drug distribution charge after a tip to Ravalli County law enforcement.
Matthew Allen Gunter, 34, was charged with felony distribution of dangerous drugs and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in Ravalli County Justice Court on Monday, Feb. 23.
An investigation by the Ravalli County Sheriff's Office found Gunter allegedly offered to sell methamphetamine to an unnamed source and agreed to meet the source at Florence Town Pump on Saturday, Feb. 21, according to court documents.
Deputies from the Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office located Gunter at the Town Pump in Florence on Feb. 21 where they advised him there was an active warrant for his arrest.
