Bobcat football Class of 2019

On Wednesday, Feb. 6 the Bobcat football team welcomed a new class of recruits to the team on college football National Signing Day. The 2019 class is composed of 30 young men, 11 of which are Montana natives, who either signed a letter of intent or verbally committed to MSU as early as December.

Choate spoke about the mentality behind this year’s recruiting class, stating, ““We wanted to improve our size along the line of scrimmage and our speed in the secondary,” later adding, “We feel we’ve accomplished that. When you look at this year’s class as a whole we gained both size and talent in both lines, added versatility to the roster, and increased our speed profile as a program.” Eight of the MSU recruits appeared on HERO Sports rankings of the “Top 40 Big Sky Recruits.”

In addition to being outstanding athletes, the 2019 recruiting class appears to be composed of excellent students as well. Choate pointed this out, saying, “Recruiting to this university’s academic excellence is an important part of our process, and this year a lot of the young men joining us qualified for academic aid.”
