City of Helena installing new water main, road closures expected
HELENA, Mont. - The City of Helena is kicking off a three-week project to install a new water main between West Main Street and the Reeder's Village Subdivision. Road closures can be expected throughout the week.
The city said the "lower section of Carriage Lane" will be temporarily closed during the project, and traffic in Reeder's Village will be rerouted on Howie Street and Adams Street. Signage will be posted throughout the neighborhood.
Water service interruptions are not anticipated for residents.
"The existing Eureka Well pipe is 130 years old," the City of Helena said. "Updating and replacing the piping will improve the operations, reliability, and resilience of the City's water system."
The full project is expected to be completed in July 2026.
