College Republicans urge you to vote

Hello Students,

My name is Morgan Kelly and I am urging you to vote first and foremost, but secondly encouraging a Republican vote this election. I will only be addressing Montana issues and candidates in this letter.

One of the most important elections to many Montanans, including myself, is the Daines-Bullock race for the Senate. Gov. Bullock has been known to side with leftist politicians on key issues. I truly believe that Bullock cares more about his party at this point than his state. He repeatedly stated that he would not run for Senate until he met with Democratic party leaders and he was urged to. Most recently, Governor Bullock has attacked four small Montana businesses in Flathead County for not enforcing the mask mandate to his liking. Sen. Daines supports small businesses.  He is fairly moderate and supports Montana outdoor recreation, including hunting. What I would urge voters to consider most is the committees that Sen. Daines sits on currently, including the Energy and Natural Resources, Finance and Indian Affairs committee, and the committee that he chairs: the National Parks Subcommittee.  This is important because it allows Montana to have a say in these important committees, all of which Montana has a huge stake in.

The other candidate I would strongly encourage a vote for would be Troy Downing for State Auditor. He spoke to College Republicans and discussed his qualifications and true passion for this position.  Downing comes from many different backgrounds including tech, military, real estate and insurance, which I believe makes him incredibly well-rounded, qualified, and ready to be the next Montana State Auditor.  The State Auditor oversees insurance companies and holds a seat on the Land Board. Downing wants to break up the hospital monopolies across Montana and make health care prices more upfront and transparent. He is excited for what he can accomplish for all the stakeholders on the land board, including schools, agriculture, homeowners and recreationists.

I encourage a well researched and thought out vote, and therefore I strongly encourage you to further research and vote for Sen. Daines and Troy Downing with no hesitation.
