Covellite featuring work of Peg Amtzis, reception set for March 28

The work of local artist Peg Amtzis is now featured at the Covellite Theatre, 215 W. Broadway St.

A reception celebrating her work will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, at 216 W. Broadway St.

A folk artist, Amtzis spends her days with her brushes and bright-colored acrylic paints to bring Butte’s past and present unique architecture and landmarks to light.

Her work reflects a deep appreciation for place, history, and community, including her large-scale collage “Embracing the Past, Shaping the Future,” inspired by the architecture of Montana Tech.

To see her work, stop by the theatre’s lounge from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. from Tuesday through Saturday.
