DEA reports increased meth, but drops in fentanyl seizures in Montana / DEA Rocky Mountain Division

MONTANA — Data from the DEA Rocky Mountain Division, which operates in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and Montana, shows an increasing number of meth seizures from 2024 to 2025.

Across Montana, approximately 24,000 fentanyl pills, nearly 170 pounds of meth and close to three kilograms of cocaine were seized last year.

The amount of meth seized was more than in 2024, although there were fewer fentanyl and cocaine confiscations.

The DEA Rocky Mountain Division shared a stark statistic that as many as 200 people will die of fentanyl-related poisoning in one day in the U.S.
