Edmonton bagpipers make a return for Butte St. Patrick's Day celebrations

The Pipes and Drums Band of the Edmonton Police Service is coming back to Butte Monday-Tuesday, March 16-17, for performances as part of the city's St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

The group has been coming to Butte to perform and help celebrate Butte’s Celtic heritage since 1984.

The band, which has become a perennial parade favorite, will perform at many locations throughout Butte. The complete schedule is listed below.

George Everett of Mainstreet Uptown Butte said contributions large and small will be accepted and acknowledged to help defray the expenses the Pipers incur while in Butte, including lodging, meals and transportation expenses.

Everett said tax-deductible donations can be sent directly to Mainstreet Uptown Butte, P.O. Box 696, Butte, MT 59703, with a notation that the donation is for the Friends of the Pipers Fund.
