Foraging lecture at Bigfork Library aims to explore native edible plants

BIGFORK, Mont. – Flathead County officials announced on Friday that the final program of their Lecture Series with the Glacier Institute will be held at the Bigfork Library on Friday, March 13. The program will offer education on the “fascinating world of foraging in Glacier National Park.”

Organizers stated that the event will provide information on identifying edible plants, as well as their traditional uses and cultural significance to the Blackfeet, Salish and Kootenai Tribes.

“Whether you’re curious about native plants, local history, or simply love the outdoors, this is a unique opportunity to deepen your connection to the landscape around us,” organizers said.

The Foraging lecture is scheduled to take place in the Bigfork Library’s Community Room from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
