Glacier National Park among others to drop entry reservations this summer

MONTANA — Big changes are coming to several major national parks as they drop advanced entrance reservations this summer. 

The National Park Service has announced that Arches, Glacier and Yosemite will end the timed entry systems that were put in place due to the pandemic.

Instead of advance reservations, these parks will implement real-time traffic controls, parking limits and shuttle systems to manage visitor access.

Advocacy groups have expressed concern that this change could strain staff and damage park resources.

Officials have noted that additional measures could be introduced if congestion worsens.
