Ronald W. Hanni passed away February 8, 2026, at home surrounded by family.
He was born on November 15, 1942, in Butte, Montana to Arne P. Hanni and Mary J. Gardetto-Hanni. Ron was raised with his two brothers in East Butte. He later attended Harrison Grade School and Butte High School. Ron then worked for BSB County before joining the Naval reserve.

Ron was a devoted Griz fan and could always be seen at the Washington Grizzly Stadium wearing his finest gear. Ron married Jackie Grenfell in 1981 and welcomed his stepdaughter Becky into the family. Son Ronnie Jr. was born later in 1981. Ron and Jackie operated Jacalyn's Restaurant in Butte and later divorced.
Ron was an avid golfer and was a member of the Butte Country Club for almost 50 years. He met Susie Richards in 2001 and welcomed four more stepdaughters to the family. Ron and Susie had a special group of golf buddies and trips to Arizona were always a special time.
The family holds onto special memories of hunting, fishing, and annual hunting camps with his dad and two brothers.
