FRENCHTOWN, Mont - The Frenchtown Rural Fire District said a heat lamp in a chicken coop may have caused a fire that affected several buildings and threatened a home on Moccasin Road.

The fire district said it responded to the fire on Wednesday around 5:41 a.m. and found "several buildings fully involved and the home threatened."

Firefighters were able to knock down the fire quickly and stop it from spreading to the home, the district said. No injuries were reported.

The fire is the third fire in the last month involving a heat lamp, the fire district said.

"Please consider other options and do not place heat lamps in out buildings, escpecially chicken coops," it wrote.
