Helena to host traveling flag ceremony at state capitol March 23
HELENA, Mont. — A ceremony recognizing Montana's role in a nationwide flag initiative will be held at the Montana State Capitol Monday.
The event will mark the state's participation in Flag Sojourn 250, an initiative that showcases a single U.S. flag traveling to every state, territory and military cemetery as part of the nationwide effort led by the National Flag Foundation and America250.
The flag's journey will conclude in Washington, D.C. in July 2026.
The ceremony in Helena is scheduled for Monday, March 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Flag Plaza on the Capitol grounds.
Gov. Gianforte will be joined by the Montana 250th Commission and the Montana Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association. The Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard will also participate.
