Interact Club helps gather goods, donate money to Butte Rescue Mission

As a community service project, members of the Interact Club of Butte recently staffed tables at the Walmart Supercenter, 3901 Harrison Ave., to gather essentials and monetary donations from shoppers in the name of a good cause, the Butte Rescue Mission.

It was a successful weekend for the students, with approximately 700 pounds of essentials collected, along with $1,536.36 in cash.

The Interact Club, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Butte, presented a check in the above amount to Brayton Erickson, director of the Butte Rescue Mission.

“Through their hard work at Walmart and the generosity of our community, this project became a powerful example of Rotary youth leadership in action,” said a Rotary Club spokesperson. “Rotary Club of Butte is extremely proud of these inspirational young people giving their time to help the Rescue Mission and our community.”
