Joe Dringle
January 15, 1941 - January 19, 2026
Joe Dringle passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, at home in Portland, OR. Joe was born on January 15, 1941, to John and Hazel Dringle. Joe had just celebrated his 85th birthday.
Joe spent his childhood and teenage years helping the family ranch on Cherry Creek in Montana. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He rode a horse to a one room elementary school taught by his aunt and continued through high school graduation at Harrison, MT. At a Harrison Community dance, he met Dorothy (Dee) Dwyer who became the love of his life. They were married February 14, 1965, and began their lives together working on the family ranch. They started their family on the Cherry Creek ranch before moving to Belgrade, MT in 1979. He continued ranching in Belgrade, successfully raising Black Angus cattle and partnering in a stock yard.
He retired and sold the ranch in 2003 and moved to Portland, OR, where he remained a devoted husband, and loving father, but truly enjoyed being an active Grandparent. He enjoyed spending time with his three granddaughters; attending their sporting events, dance recitals, music concerts, taking them fishing and teaching them to drive. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting die cast automobiles, avidly reading newspapers and biographies, managing his investments, watching pro bull riding, cheering on his favorite basketball team, the Golden State Warriors and enjoying good steak dinners.
Joe is proceeded in death by his parents John and Hazel Dringle, sister Pat, and son Jeff Dringle. He is survived by his wife of nearly 61 years Dee Dringle, daughter Sandi McRae, son-in-law Travis McRae; and granddaughters Sydney, Courtney and Ashley.
