Letter to the editor: Governor denying free speech

Gov. Gianforte has unilaterally decided Montanans no longer have free speech rights to rally at our state Capitol on weekends. I would challenge the governor to point out where in our U.S. and Montana Constitutions he is given the authority to suspend our rights free speech and to assemble. I would hope the governor will reverse his unconstitutional order. He can save the taxpayers thousands of dollars defending his order that most people don’t support and the courts are likely to throw out.

Joe Lamson,
