Missoula crash investigation after motorcyclist seriously hurt

MISSOULA, Mont. — According to the Missoula Police Department (MPD), officers responded shortly after 2:30 p.m. on April 10, 2026, to a crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle at Reserve Street and Spurgin Road.

MPD reported a 35-year-old man on the motorcycle suffered serious bodily injury and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle, a 41-year-old, was later found near Schilling Avenue and Fairview Avenue and taken into custody. Additionally, Police, he was processed for suspected impairment.

Officers followed serious bodily injury protocols. Detectives, the Crash Investigation Team and MPD drone operators all contributed to the investigation.

Traffic on Reserve Street saw minor temporary impacts during the investigation. All lanes later reopened and traffic returned to normal.

The 41-year-old was taken to the Missoula County Jail and remanded on charges of negligent vehicular assault causing serious bodily injury, aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs as a second offense and resisting arrest.
