Montana Department of Transportation reports increased deer sightings on US 12

MONTANA — Amid World Wildlife Day on Tuesday, the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) highlighted an increase in deer sightings on the Deep Creek US 12 camera.

MDT noted that collisions with wildlife tend to rise during fall and spring, particularly at dawn and dusk.

Drivers have been urged to buckle up, drive sober, scan the roadside and use high beams when possible. If a crash is unavoidable, drivers should hold the wheel, use controlled braking and avoid approaching injured animals, according to MDT officials.
