Montana WIC program supports families with resources and services

MONTANA — The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a vital resource for families across the state, offering access to healthy food, breastfeeding education and referrals to health and social services.

In Montana, WIC operates through 33 agencies and more than 80 clinic sites, reaching all 56 counties and seven tribal reservations. Currently, more than 13,000 women, infants and children are enrolled in the program.

Despite the wide reach of WIC in Montana, only 55% of eligible families are currently signed up.

To find out more about the WIC program and determine eligibility, families are encouraged to contact their local WIC office.
