Multiple agencies respond to wildfire south of Tizer Lake Road in Jefferson County

JEFFERSON CITY, Mont. – A wildfire that ignited south of Tizer Lake Road on Friday afternoon has prompted a response from multiple agencies, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).

Authorities stated that no structures are at risk and no evacuations have been ordered, however, residents in the area are urged to monitor updates from the sheriff’s office and remain aware of the fire’s location.

According to JCSO officials, resources from the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, as well as personnel from several volunteer fire departments are actively working to contain the blaze.

Members of the public are advised to avoid the area while crews continue engaging the fire.
