On this day in 1976, taxpayers voted in a $350,000 bond for Victor School (about $2 million in today's money) after the bond had failed three times in two years.

In other front-page news, two 17-year-old boys were arrested for possession of marijuana, and two adults were arrested: one for DUI and one for disorderly conduct.

A brand new theater opened on this day in 2001. The Pharaohplex boasted four screens and an Egyptian-themed design.
