Polson fire department responds to house fire, residents safe

POLSON, Mont. — The City of Polson Fire Department quickly responded to a house fire on the 200 block of 5th Avenue West on Monday evening.

According to a Facebook post by the City of Polson Fire Department, firefighters arrived and saw smoke coming from the home. Thankfully, the residents had already gotten out safely.

The fire started in the basement and was likely due to electrical issues. Help from the Polson Rural Fire District was also called in, with 26 firefighters on the scene.

The fire was put out in 10 minutes, and crews stayed to make sure everything was safe. No one was hurt.

The Red Cross and the Polson City Fire Department Auxiliary are helping the residents find temporary housing.

The cause of the fire is still being looked into.
