Some Uptown Butte streets closed Monday and Tuesday for St. Patrick's Day
The Butte-Silver Bow Public Works Department, along with B-SB Parks and Recreation will implement temporary street closures in Uptown Butte for the St. Patrick’s Day parade.
Emergency vehicles will be the only vehicles permitted within the closure areas. Vehicles must be removed from these areas to avoid towing.
The purpose of the closures is for safety and cleanup.
According to a news release issued by Butte-Silver Bow, restricting traffic will improve pedestrian safety in high-density areas. In the aftermath of the Uptown Butte celebration, it will allow street sweepers and refuse trucks access the streets more efficiently without parked vehicles.
Closures will begin at 4 p.m. on Monday and remain in effect until 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
The following streets will be closed:
—Main Street (Broadway Street to Park Street) closes at 4 p.m. on Monday.
—Main Street (Granite Street to Broadway Street) closes at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
—Park Street (Montana Street to Main Street) closes at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
—Dakota Street (Broadway Street to Galena Street) closes at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
—Montana Street (Galena Street to Broadway Street) closes at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
—Park Street entrance to the Parking Garage closes at 10 p.m. on Monday through 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
