St. Ignatius police ask for help identifying suspects in fake bill case

ST. IGNATIUS, Mont. — The St. Ignatius Police Department is calling on the community for help after two people allegedly tried to use a fake $20 bill at a local store on February 24 between 9:00 and 9:15 p.m.

In a Facebook post, the department shared that the bill was marked “Motion Picture Purposes,” making it a clear replica. They're now seeking to identify a man and a woman captured on the store's surveillance video, who were seen driving a red minivan.

The police department stresses that this request is purely for identification. As per Montana Code Annotated, everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
