Stage production inspired by ‘Alice in Wonderland’ runs April 4 at Mother Lode
Travel down the rabbit hole MOMIX-style with Moses Pendleton’s newest creation, "Alice," at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, at the Mother Lode Theatre.
MOMIX is a company of dancer-illusionists based in Connecticut. The show features a fusion of dancing, lighting, music, costumes and projected imagery.
Inspired by “Alice in Wonderland,” as Alice’s body grows and shrinks and grows again, Pendleton’s dancers extend themselves by means of props, ropes, and other dancers.
According to the Mother Lode website, the Alice story is full of imagery and absurd logic — before there was surrealism there was Alice. "Alice" has been described as an invitation to invent, to let imagination run and play outside.
The show features a fusion of dancing, lighting, music, costumes and projected imagery.
