State Officials unveil new Montana’s welcome sign design

Montana highways are about to look more flashy as the Montana Department of Commerce and Department of Transportation unveiled new welcome sign designs.The Treasure States current highway signs have not been updated in 12 years. Governor Greg Gianforte said the new sign incorporates the new Montana brand, which was unveiled last year at the World Famous Mile City Bucking Horse Sale.The sign was selected by over 11,000 Montanans who voted online for their favorite design. Gianforte said he’s pleased this sign will be the first impression when visitors and Montanans enter the state.“It’s great to see this sign represent the entire state from the plains of the east to the beautiful mountain ranges in the west. For residents and visitors alike, I think this design will encourage all to explore everything that this great state offers,” said GianforteThe signs will be installed by MDOT at the state’s entry points starting later this month as weather and access to sign locations permit.
