Teen arrested in Wolf Point after displaying a tomahawk axe during a fight, fleeing from police

WOLF POINT, Mont. - A teen was arrested Monday night on multiple charges including fleeing from police and resisting arrest after Wolf Point Police Officers responded to a group fight on 3rd Avenue at around 6:25 p.m. The teen had a tomahawk axe in his bag, which was mistaken for a firearm by a witness who spoke with police.

WPPD said the teen fled from officers on foot before he was ultimately arrested.

"Officers believe the witness observation of the black handle of the Tomahawk was possibly mistaken for a firearm," WPPD said in a social media post. 

The teen was charged with fleeing from or eluding a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, carrying a concealed dangerous weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of intoxicating beverages by those younger than twenty-one years of age.

"The Wolf Point Police Department takes possession of dangerous weapons, especially concerning juveniles very seriously," WPPD said. "Such behavior is disturbing and will not be tolerated."
