Thousands Gather In Bozeman For ‘No Kings’ Protest

BOZEMAN, Mont. — Thousands of protestors gathered in downtown Bozeman as part of a nationwide day of protest against the current Trump administration.  

The demonstrations were hosted by Indivisible Bozeman, a local organization focused on nonviolent activism and community engagement. The group has now hosted three "No Kings" events since July of 2025, with the most recent one taking place on October 18. 

Cheyenne McGuire was among those who showed up to voice her concerns. 

"I'm here today because I believe in rights for all people and I think it's really important to stand up for what you believe in especially in our home country, and if things aren't going the way that we want them to, I think it's really important to stand up and speak against them," McGuire said.  

The protests extended far beyond Bozeman. More than 30 "No Kings" demonstrations took place across Montana alone, part of nearly 3,000 events happening nationwide.  

With the large turnout, it drew a diverse crowd eager to share their perspectives on the state of politics in America.  

Martin Hamilton, who participated in the protest, reflected on his history of activism.  

"We're elderly people. We marched against the Vietnam war, we marched against the Iraq war, and now we have another war that we oppose. We don't even understand it, and I don't think the world understands it," Hamilton said.  

U.S. House Congressional candidate Russell Cleveland also attended the event.  

Cleveland is running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Montana’s First Congressional district.  

He said the protests represent a desire for unity and togetherness among Americans.  

"This is a time where we need to speak up and start acting like neighbors and Americans again. We're Montanan's first, so this is what it looks like when all of Montana comes together," Cleveland said.
