Madison County, Mont. — The Madison County Sheriff's Office said a private plane flown by Montana U.S. Sen. Tim Sheehy had to land in a field near Ennis on April 10.

Two people were on the plane and both got out without injury, according to the press release.

Emergency crews secured the area after the landing. The sheriff's office said responders also handled a small fuel leak and reported no continuing danger to the public.

The case was still being reviewed and federal aviation officials were notified, the sheriff's office reported.
