University of Montana to host finalist for president position next week

MISSOULA, Mont. — The University of Montana is moving forward in its search for a new president and plans to bring a finalist to campus as soon as next week.

The university has been looking for a new leader since former President Seth Bodnar resigned from the position in January. Bodnar is now running for U.S. Senate as an independent candidate.

Montana Commissioner of Higher Education Clayton Christian said in an update that plans are underway to invite a finalist for the position to campus.

Christian says the name of the finalist and itinerary of a campus visit will be released soon.
