Vehicle found in Jocko River leads to coordinated rescue efforts

ARLEE, Mont. — Late on March 2, 2026, a vehicle ended up in the Jocko River, sparking a rapid response from multiple local agencies. At 10:40 p.m., Arlee Fire and Ambulance were called to the scene after someone on the shoreline cried out for help.

The individual was safely rescued and taken to a Missoula hospital for further care. Initial reports couldn't confirm if others were involved, leading to a thorough search.

In a Facebook post, the Arlee Volunteer Fire Department shared that ground search teams combed the riverbanks, and an infrared-equipped drone scanned the area for additional victims. Fortunately, no other individuals were found.

The operation brought together several agencies, including the Arlee Fire Department, Lake County Sheriff's Office, Montana Highway Patrol and CSKT Tribal Police. Their collective effort ensured both medical care and search operations ran smoothly.
