Who's running: Candidates file for Butte-Silver Bow county-wide races
Candidate filing for Butte-Silver Bow county-level offices closed Wednesday with four contested races on the ballot for voters to decide.
This isn’t a heavy local election year in Butte-Silver Bow like it is in some Montana counties that have county-wide races this year for sheriff, county attorney, treasurer and other offices. Those posts, chief executive and several others are on the ballot in presidential election years in Butte-Silver Bow.
Six of Butte-Silver Bow’s 12 council seats are on the ballot this year, with four of the races contested. Full council terms are four years but they can be shorter if someone resigns his or her seat before their full term is up.
