Wildland fire near Gallatin Gateway under control
UPDATE: March 17 at 11:52 p.m.
The wildfire off Axtel and High Flat area has been brought under control, according to a release by the Gallatin Gateway Fire Department.
41 firefighting personnel and 20 apparatus worked together to knock down the estimated 600 acre fire.
A small crew remained on scene to monitor for any flare-ups and handle potential spot fires.
GALLATIN GATEWAY, Mont. — Firefighters have responded to a wildland fire near Axtell and Cottontail.
The Gallatin Gateway Fire Department received reports of smoke near the 14600 block of High Flat Rd.
No word from the department on containment or how the fire started.
