Bridge project near Alberton closes Triple Bridges access
Walk-in access at Triple Bridges near Alberton is set to close starting April 15 because of an I-90 bridge project.
A Facebook post from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Region 2 said the closure covers Old Highway 10 West past Tarkio East Fishing Access Site, including the footbridge, the kayaker trail and nearby land along the east bank of the Clark Fork River.
FWP said the river will stay open to floating, and the Cyr Bridge to Tarkio route will still be open. Tarkio East, Ralph’s Takeout and other access sites in that stretch will also remain open.
The agency said the closure is tied to work by the Montana Department of Transportation and Sletten Construction Companies about 9.5 miles west of Alberton. It is expected to last through fall 2027.
