Lincoln County chase ends on Kootenai River bridge

LINCOLN COUNTY, Mont. — The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) reported a car chase in Lincoln County which ended after deputies responded after 1:00 p.m. on Mar. 9, 2026, to a call about a driver experiencing a mental health crisis.

A deputy tried to stop the driver, but the woman sped away at more than 100 mph.

LCSO reported a deputy used stop sticks, and the woman lost control of the vehicle before stopping on the bridge over the Kootenai River.

She was taken into custody, and the sheriff's office reported there was no known threat to the public.
