MDT calls for vigilance after 9 snow plow crashes this weekend
MONTANA - Nine Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) snow plows were involved in crashes over the weekend, taking both the vehicles and their drivers off the road.
According to MDT policy, when a plow is hit, the driver must undergo a drug and alcohol test, and the plow is inspected for damage.
Repairs and part replacements can take time, which delays the plow's return to service, MDT said in a release.
MDT urged drivers to "give our plows room to work" and to remain vigilant on the road.
